PaintSafeTM is a patent pending concentrated liquid formulation
designed to create a PaintSafeTM + water solution for treating the filtering wastes
from spray booths contaminated with solvent based coatings.
PaintSafeTM provides reliable and cost efffective treatment
for both dry filter and water wash styles of spray booths.
Because of PaintSafeTM's
inherent variety of features and applications, plus the variety of coatings and
contaminants encountered in spray booth operations, a PaintSafeTM
representative should always be consulted for proper treatment recommendations.
Dry Filter Waste Treatment
Contaminated filters may be treated by either spraying them while
hanging in the booths, or removed directly to a treatment tank and soaked.
>Spraying.Filters are sprayed with the diluted
PaintSafe & water solution after each shift, until removed for disposal.
Treatment is via any type of sprayer equipment capable of delivering sufficient
solution to thoroughly coat the filters in a timely manner… typically, a
powered spray unit is most efficient, though a simple pump-up manual sprayer
may be used for small applications.
>Soaking.Filters are soaked by placing them in a
treatment tank filled with diluted PaintSafe solution immediately after they
are removed from the booth.
No additional attention is needed once the treatment begins… simply drain
excess solution on removal and throw away.
EnChem also sells disposal treatment bags for soaking to reduce sediment separation
if a customer wishes to clean his tank less frequently - these microporous bags
are filled with the filters before soaking. The filters are never touched again - simply soak the filled bags, and
throw away.
Please note that any sediment removed from the tank is also treated and safe to
throw away.
(NOTE:EnChem sells custom designed,
all aluminum, PaintSafeTM treatment tanks* in
various sizes.A customer may also
supply or construct their own, and a PaintSafe representative can assist)
Either method of treating filters is quick, clean, effective and easy.Low labor - low cost.
Water Wash Waste Treatment
PaintSafeTM concentrate is added
directly to the water reservoir in water wash reservoirs, and circulated
through the system as with any detackifier or flocculant additive.Treatment is automatic as overspray is
captured in the water.
The treatment ratio can vary slightly according to the reservoir size and
coating(s) being treated.A small
period of experimentation by the user in their particular booth(s), will reveal
the ideal treatment regime to fully realize the superior results that only PaintSafeTM
provides.
Consult with your PaintSafe representative for appropriate treatment procedures
for your water wash booths. NOTE:PaintSafeTM has proven effective 100% of the time during the
last 7 years of its usage on solvent based coatings. However, due to the broad spectrum of and continual evolution of
solvent based paints, stains and coatings, EnChem
reserves the right to review the MSDS data of the waste to be treated with PaintSafeTM, and perform trial tests on the waste if
necessary, before guaranteeing performance.
*EnChem
treatment tanks meet all EPA and State regulatory requirements for generators
to self-treat their wastes.EnChem
tanks are not guaranteed to meet the more stringent Federal and State
tank regulations for Owner/Operators of for-profit commercial waste
treatment facilities.
